If linux gaming requires you use a blessed immutable OS where everything you run is either unprivileged or signed by a central entity, it's not much better than just using Windows at that point. Kernel level anti cheat is a failure. Yo

I've heard people call the old approach "outdated" and even "wrong" before. It's honestly the dumbest situation, where people eagerly use extremely complex databases as if they were indexed KV stores. Completel

Function pointers are easy if you typedef the function type. What a pointer to function (int) returning int? The difficult way: int (*p)(int); The easy way: typedef int Func(int); Func *p; The typedef reads just like a

There are literally at least 3 well designed and featureful alternatives to OpenRC which are not systemd: daemontools, runit, and s6-rc. There are also other lesser known options. For a real world in-situ use of runit, see voidlinux. It cou

Consciousness is probably the most vague term in the west. At least in eastern philosophy they made an attempt at nailing it down. Just because a lot of people use a word a lot, doesn't mean the word is well defined.

If you make a robot which screams in response to stimuli, is it conscious? I think this kind of reductionist approach to consciousness is bound to end up very weak in the face of these kinds of counterarguments. Maybe I missed your point.
