I am thinking about the last entry. I'll be addressing them in this response. If you're searching for emotional safety, you probably have some unmet needs. Fortunately, there's one place where no one else has access - it'

Honestly, it bugs me less. I think that interaction with people is important. But with animals and plants you are at least dealing with beings that have needs you have to care about to keep them healthy. With bots, there are no needs, just

It seems we're not quite there, yes. But you should have seen the despair when GPT 5 was rolled out to replace GPT 4. These people were miserable. Complaining about a complete personality change of their "partner", the desper

Dear god, there's more! I'll need a drink for this one. However, I suspect I have better resistance to schizo posts than emotionally weird posts.

phew, that's a healthy start. I am still slightly worried about accepting emotional support from a bot. I don't know if that slope is slippery enough to end in some permanent damage to my relationships and I am honestly not willin

One of the more disturbing things I read this year was the my boyfriend is AI subreddit. I genuinely can't fathom what is going on there. Seems so wrong, yet no one there seems to care. I worry about the damage caused by these things o

Let's take a look at incentives. Booking.com has an incentive to cancel. The hotel itself has an incentive to cancel. The laws in place don't prevent this, especially when some contractual fine print is involved. Will this public

Slight correction: Spoofing it is table stakes for ever so slightly capable actors. These will still help against the masses of dumb actors flooding your stuff.

You missed one of our best guarded secrets: ja3 hashes and their successors. Basically, we can identify browsers based on the supported ciphers in TLS handshake (order matters too AFAIK). Then when your declared identity is not matching the

The issue is, that your personal info is valuable to only you. It also doesn't reflect character worth or personal worth. That's how people gave their privacy away to apps - they've realized this is the best deal they can get

Hello, as someone who does this for years, don't worry. People out there are generally nice. People mostly don't care. And even if someone mocks your stuff in private - it says more about them than you.

Well, I have one well-documented exception to this rule: Secret detection. You really don't want to push secrets to your repository, especially if it's hosted as public on GitHub. Those damned attackers can find the secrets in min

I can answer that - once the lawyers take interest in your SLAs, you need to check with them if this is really an incident. Otherwise, you might lose some contract money and nobody wants that.
