I thought it's quite good. Of course, I'm not taking 100% of output, but it takes care of my grammar blindspots (damn you commas and a/an/the articles!). Can you please share what and how gets degraded? Sometimes I don&#

Oh snap. Say I'd like to compute some JA4 hashes on my server. I know this can be done as the server has the keys required. But is there a ready made solution that can account for ECH and compute JA4 as a proxy? Please? I saw HAProxy s

That all sounds nice, but I can't really see AI companies paying for content. Putting morals and previous experience aside, they would need massive investment to people producing massive volumes of high quality content for training.

As there are no references to "Seeing like a state" by James C. Scott, let me recommend it. A great read that explains how hard is to create a city from scratch, how illegible community value is and how big organizations cannot se

But how would you evaluate performance of those watching models? It'd need an indicator, hopefully only one that's key to ensure maximal ethic compliance.

It's not that bad. Yes, you need to make a couple of good sysadmin decisions, but it's very much possible to operate a small web. Source: my VPS-hosted site was up through all of the recent AWS, Cloudflare and Azure outages.

Interesting, not sure if that's enough of a sample size, but the argument of "this is unreasonable for a 200$/month consumer subscription" will make or break all kinds of services.

To reach my site, users need to get through the AI summary first. Spoilers: they don't get through more often than not. This is based on the drop of views since AI summary started. And honestly, I don't blame them. If the summary

I mean... At this point, what even would make people switch from MS? End users don't care, companies don't care so MS just gets away with piles and piles of slop.

Honestly, Chess.com isn't the shining beacon of 99.9999 SLA - sometimes this just happens. Give it a break, take a drink, usually it's back up in couple minutes. On a second read though - https://news.ycombinator.com&#x

Gotcha. Yes, with just a VPS you have to do a lot of busywork to get online - DNS, reverse proxy, docker, dev environment, DB setup and others. I'd still recommend starting with SQLite, seems that by skipping a DB service you can save

Thanks for the reply, you are right, I missed the threshold on my first read. While I am still sad I can see the reasons for it. Guess I have some posting to do.

Let me describe my setup, so that you can compare. I use a Contabo VPS for around 5 USD month to host my Wagtail (django-based) site. The DB also runs on the same infra and since it's SQLite I can back it up externally. I probably woul

Thank you for the reference, it's a fascinating read. It would be good to highlight that this is fiction, though.

Yes, but there's a hidden benefit taken for granted: machines do not make human errors. Sadly, machines not needing human treatment might be reason enough.

I can agree with you. And in a discussion with adults working together to address our issues I will. The issue is that we don't have exact proof that AI is suitable for tasks and the people doing those are already laid off. The economy

I'd say it's a good PoC. They want to have many users. So they are ok with using OCR for many users. And since they are sending the accessed content through their APIs, might as well send a copy of it to training. In conclusion, i
