I've not seen many corrupted sqlite databases, but because Synapse is not currently storage-efficient you can end up with some terrifying large (100GB+) sqlite databases which might as well be corrupted. We only ever supported sqlite f

Speaking as project lead for Matrix, the protocol does currently expose more metadata to the server than it should. Specifically, the main issues are: * no sealed-sender (but see the OP on why this is not a panacea) * server can see which u

No, it's just a warning that your client can't prove that the message was really sent by that sender. These will eventually go away once https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-spec-proposals/pull/404.

We are open to suggestions :) And the very first generation of P2P Matrix was indeed built on libp2p (and Protocol Labs led Element's Series B). However, the thought experiment here is whether we can get away without a full global P2P

I'm resurrecting peer-to-peer Matrix ( https://arewep2pyet.com ) thanks to the Dutch government, who started funding it in October. The main question is which P2P overlay network to use, if any: the prior incarnation used Pin

metadata from Matrix is never 'public' (i.e. visible to the public). It's visible to only the admins of the servers participating in a given conversation.

In Matrix 2.0, all calls are group capable (much like Matrix itself doesn’t specialcase DMs - they are just rooms with 2 people). So yes, no coturn is needed. We haven’t got as far as interop between legacy Matrix 1:1 calling and Matrix 2.0

Hm. Something sounds wrong here, then. On my iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 26, my account (~5000 rooms) opens in about 2s in Element X iOS. On the classic app it’s about 10s (ie unusable). Roughly how many rooms are you in? and what server is t
