This isn't a new idea. This exact proxy pattern already exists with things like AWS API Gateway Lambda Authorizers. This is still quite a useful architecture as it allows the backend to be implemented without concern for authentication

I agree. I think a lot of the problem can be solved with discipline rather than a new spec entirely. If HTTP offers features that are offensive or unwanted, simply don't use those features. Make an HTTP server and client that only impl

URL discussion: This is exactly one of the author's points. The wording in the spec is too ambiguous. Different people reading it are interpreting it differently. No human language is really 100% unambiguous, but better technical writi

I don’t like how this person measured their serving sizes by volume. It’s much better to measure in grams.

Correct headline: Microsoft cuts salaries for 2023. Even in a good economy inflation and cost of living increases are a thing.

For most of my life I hated fountain pens. It turns out that was because the ones I tried were cheap, bad, and/or broken. I gave them one more shot. Again, a lot of them I did not like, but the Platinum Preppy was excellent. I wanted t

This is the answer. Don't criminalize vice, that just leads to systems of oppression. Instead, do not allow anyone to advertise vice or anything that is harmful to society. Its working well for banning tobacco ads. Just have to ban ads

IIRC they wanted to know the efficiency of different algorithms like big O notation stuff. Maybe it would be understandable if we were doing high performance real time programming in C. The job was writing HTTP APIs. I aced all the HTTP and
