It's purpose was to make tweets fit into SMS. It's past its purpose because noone uses Twitter via SMS and people routinely circumvent it with text in images and multi-part tweets anyway.

Thanks for the name-calling. Unfortunately, it is you who is out of touch with reality: the switch to Python 3 is happening. Python 3 isn't going away, Python 2 is. All important libraries support it by now.[1] [1] https://p

It's neither shortsighted nor pointless. This way people will actually switch. Programmers won't change without being forced. Also, Python 3 was their one chance to break backwards compatibility. And there are so many breaking cha

No, that's been tried and it doesn't work well for multicopters. * They're only effective from quite some altitude, much higher than you typically fly multicopters * They'll still just soften the landing somewhat anyway

Or modernize the applications. Throw out the ad-hoc formats and parsers, replace them with machine-readable equivalents. For example, systemd finally provides a logging system that allows structured logging with key/value fields.

+1 for copy/pasting your old comment[1] when the same discussion pops up yet again within 30 days. I suppose there's really nothing new to say here. [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10514904

As long as airlines set prices in an unethical way (e.g. increase price the longer you look at an offer), there is no discussion to be had about the behavior of the buyers. (Funny, so similar to the ad company / adblocking situation.)

I always start with an empty commit[1] for two reasons: 1. It's slightly harder to edit the first commit afterwards (say, to replace a working title with the actual project title before publishing, or to fix authorship or whatever). 2.
