There's nothing indicating vaccines do anything to stop or make variants less likely. Arguably they could make more virulent variants more likely to survive.

Omicron is basically the common cold when it comes to symptoms and deaths. Could be the real "vaccine".

Populations that stop reproducing is a problem that solves itself. Probably cultures and individuals that are more likely to desire babies will push forward.

Yeah, I don't think in the internet anybody cares about "ownership", but about authorship. But because of the incentives of crypto all of the energy of NFTs gets poured into "ownership" which provides zero value to

The fediverse still has many issues: - You don't own your content unless you run your own node - You don't own your username, unless you run your own node - From the previous 2, you can't easily move your stuff to a different

The technology is really there, the problem with crypto is that it ends up sucking all of its energy into pyramid schemes because people take part on it as if it were a new gold rush. I would be more interested if there was zero money to be

That seems like a terrible idea for a rushed treatment during a global pandemic. If anything we need as much accurate and scientifically sound information as possible, if we want to make sensible decisions.

The vaccines could be used in risk populations without promoting variants by mass vaccinating the general population? I don't think it's necessarily anti-vaccine, just anti-current-vaccine-plan.

The article is very good and the title is fine. It's just a bit tiresome that this type of article starts to pop up now instead of being a very serious consideration from the beginning of the "end Covid" plan, the very high c

I don't know, this variant sounds an excuse for the expected failure of the vaccination plan, now that cold weather and flu season is here it's will hard to keep pretending vaccines are leading us to any kind of long term victory.

This variant really sounds like an excuse for the (expected) failure of the vaccines. There was never a scientific plan for how vaccinating everybody would end Covid. And now that flu-season is here it will become too obvious to pretend oth

"Covid deaths" are also a very meaningless metric where every country or region does whatever it wants. Excess deaths would be a better metric, but also hard to remove from there all the damage done by lockdowns, stress generated
