An important topic here is that shame is also a construct, and it is a collective construct. Certain things are shameful in one culture, not in another. This isn’t to say that we don’t have a gut feeling when something feels wrong. We have

Used them for past ten years, on Windows. So quiet. I used Apple’s drivers to have the nice osd for media keys. I love how the AAK feels sturdy. It’s one large slab, it doesnt slide easily on the table thanks to the rubber pads. It gives a

Does neovim have a gvim equivalent nowadays? The redraw speed for gvim on native ubuntu is awful, you can literally distinguish when top and bottom of the window is drawn, it doesn’t feel good. Sublime Text redraws almost instantly the enti

I tried JSDoc. I liked it at first but soon it became unusable. Even putting aside how verbose it is, the problem is the IDE support was not working. Trying to document eg. Vue props with JSDoc, there was no completion. Seems to me JSDoc in

Many many moons ago I wrote C and C++, typed languages right? I don’t remember typing my code being so abstract and complicated. Take php 7+, has good typing features and is way, way easier to understand. All I want is native js interfaces,

As a dev working in a team with "sprints" and creating/ solving tickets, I find the interface awful. I remember 10+ years ago jira had straightforward tables, it was much quicker to add, remove, close issues. I’d open a bookm

This is way, way beyond the web. Cue in "the century of the self". Advertising and self deception is too embedded in our culture and way of life. Also cue in "Ways of seeing". Iow, I believe advertising is symptomatic of

Doesn’t have to be white though, I’ve used anoff white for as long as I remember. Say #f8f8f8, or a warmer tone. i think there is a big difference in terms of luminosity by just lowering the rgb a few notches.

I’ve been thinking about an alternative to tailwind but I have no idea how to implement it. I think what would be even more powerful is you configure all the classes with some kind of regexp. They need to be unique. You could provide a func

This is why I don’t love Tailwind as much as I’d like: "It gives developers without a deep understanding of design the ability to build visually gorgeous, modern user interfaces." This is flat out a myth i widh people stop regur

Sounds like using a subset of tailwind classes, focusing on positioning. This is what I’m doing on a nuxt project. I also use Sass for the visuals within each component. That said I never found utility classes enough to handle breakpoints,

I would love to use Windows WSL full time, along with docker containers, for general web development. There is one thing though that no one talks about.. the fonts!!! The font smoothing is awful on Windows... will this ever change? The new
