Agreed - I use GPS to do the initial pathfinding - in much the same way I'd use a paper map in the old days. It's part of why I have a good sense of direction.

Merry Christmas indeed!

All of the bits that do make up secular christmas, do have pagan origins, which is more or less my point. My general take is that every major religion has some sort of solstice related celebration.

I will argue that in the US Christmas is in part a secular holiday - given its sorta pagan origins that makes total sense to me. It's a solstice feast basically.

We have one of the new concept Penny's here in Hurst Texas, and its amazing, the store is very well merchandised, clean and well lit. They're supposedly rolling them out nationwide - JCP does gamify shopping in a way that almost m

Oh sure - but I like something with the ease of use from my car too. Though thats not all, I also have a receiver feeding into an 1/2w FM modulator and providing whole house music at home.

I agree with you in part - we do have 100 years of development patterns baked into concrete and steel, but they were not originally built just for cars. LA was built around interurbans, the idea that I should drive my car all the way from S

This is part of why I basically gave up on this and just went with SiriusXM - I like linear programming - less effort for me to engage with.

The difference is, we have better QC procedures and modern flight control electronics.

AFAIK, we do recover and refurbish them - at least when shuttle was flying.

The ironic part of all of this, I would have pay linear TV services if it was cheaper - 50 bucks a month for the whole house, and I suspect they could have 30%+ more customers.

I looked at a model 3 at the time I was shopping for my Chrysler 300, and saw with my own eyes. So unless my eyes are lying, no, I dont think I have been.

There will at least - in 75 years be something internally, a minimum layer of abstraction that looks a whole lot like VT100 escape codes in a character stream. It's probably one of the stickiest API's that I can think of.

I've not been a huge fan of Tesla generally because of the lack of physical buttons, as well as build quality. I think my next vehicle, will be at a minimum plug in hybrid, and maybe full BEV, ironically, replacing our dual electric ta

Local Access is a very different issue, and I dont really disagree - but the local copper loop being broadband is an accident and one of technological evolution. When the decisions were made about divesiture, that bit was non obvious.
