I was prepared to hate the new talk show and Mule Radio Syndicate, but to my surprise, John Gruber sound a lot more energetic than pretty much the last year, now if he can get a co-host to rein him in from time to time and at the same time

The charger itself is a usb charger, the cable on the other end has a 30 pin connector. Nobody is stopping you from using the iPhone charger to charge other things via standard usb cable.

The PR says nothing of importance or relevance. But to be fair, Apple didn't name drop any charitable orgs still.

> Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. Why am I quoting a 2008 movie

What? Your math seems wrong. The registration fee is $99, Apple has paid out $4 billion as of February this year, and there are ~.25 million registered iOS developers in US, let's be generous and say there are 1M registered developers world

Last time I checked G+ my feed looks like a mix of photo gallery and Google fan club. It is really really weird. All social groups have circle-jerky tendency, none is as apparent at the scale as G+

And it's also worth mentioning that Instapaper will require iOS 5.0 beginning next update. His active users' OS adoption rate is really astonishing.

Well by then those dinosaurs just have to abandon their outdated business model and innovate. Just like we keep telling the MPAA/RIAA to do. I'm only half joking.

Because in almost every article about Chinese Labor practice it was filled with details describing how horrible those dormitory livings were, using colorful words like slave-labor, soul-crushing etc. But to a lot of Chinese people, living i

I'm an asshole, not a dick. Mind you. Apple can and is trying to improve the labor conditions at its supply chain. That's the whole point of its annul report. Foxconn is trying too. Those companies' primary goal is money, suicide workers co

The n-hexane poisoning incident happened between October 2008 and July 2009, Apple's 2010 report on suppliers' labor practice (published feb 2011) disclosed this severe offense and Apple demanded Wintek to stop such practice and compensate

It's all so emotional isn't it? If you rage harder maybe our Chinese people's life would magically become better. Or in fact you do not care as long as your shinny new toys are isolated from the poverty and suffering of the rest of the worl

Apple does not care about marketshare as much as Google. Google is playing the monopoly game and Apple is playing the King of its backyard garden game. The annoying part of Apple is it sees a rather large chunk of the world as its backyard.

Not only those giant piles of Android phones, also Google's cheap farms of Linux servers, so they are customly made rigs, but where do the components come from? Are they assembled by the same line workers making every other lowly PCs?

The most low level line workers are paid 1750+200+(100~800)+OT=more than ¥2500/month that's $13 a day. So you think wrong. The problem are hazardous working condition and excessive over-time, in the end of course repetitive jobs that have n

On a 17" 1920x1200 display Roboto still looks like crap. It has no desktop anti-alias feature. To me it never looks good, but on desktop especially crappy.

In Roboto's defense (If there ever was one) it really is not fitted to be displayed on desktop OSes. Of course that kinda goes against Fleishman's argument that it is designed to be versatile across dpi configurations.

All these rationalization still can't change Roboto as a whole is not well put together and has severe identity crisis. When your team look disjointed and at odds with each other, really there is no win in technicalities. Besides, fonts are
