Emergency medicine is inelastic and not conducive to price shopping and other research. But, what percentage of medicine falls into that category? For example, I currently have a shoulder injury. I'm meeting with an ortho specialist n

I view it much like a bar owner. The bar is default-open to any patron. But, if a patron gets drunk and makes a scene, they can be asked to leave. If that patron sneaks around back and climbs in through an open window, they are trespassi

Those incomes look like fairly typical mid-level individual salaries (in the DC area, at least). I would expect the household numbers to be higher than listed to account for those that have working spouses.

Funny, I feel the opposite. $100/trip for a subway ride? Preposterous, and the economic system is somehow broken that such an income disparity exists. $10/trip? Eh, if I cut out the Starbucks latte, I could do that. But, I reall

Same here. I was born in Dubai. Dad was working there as an engineer during the building boom in the 70s. I inherited British citizenship through both parents, and US citizenship through Dad. But, I've lived most of my life just out

I thought I landed on a 404. For those who aren't native English speakers, SOL = shit out of luck (completely out of luck) "Darn, the concert is sold out, I guess we're SOL."

So, the light trapped in the crystal is stationary, and not just "bouncing around" inside, where we can observe it? I guess the question could be phrased - is the light really stopped, or just confined to a REALLY small area (but

For me, it depends on the salesperson and store. The worst is salespeople who ask questions, but don't actually know their product any better than I do. Car salesmen almost always fall into this category. Same thing at most of the big-box

No different, IMO. I live in a typical suburb - 4 bedroom homes, quarter acre lots. I don't want my neighbor running a B&B. Is there room for compromise? Maybe. On general principle, I wouldn't mind my neighbor renting his house for
