I'm guessing that this would have been either too complex, or taken too many years. The pragmatic, lower scope approach, already required quite a lot of work.

My understanding, following the reading of https://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg14/www/docs/n2897.htm is that it was simpler to "salvage" a single function from "Annex K" by rena

How does that work without becoming a SPOF for taking down the website ? Can't a user/botnet with more CPU power than the server simply send more captchas than can be processed ? In addition, using sha256 for this is IMHO a mistak

Even without regulation, there's another aspect to know of: how to use the features of your calculators. If your teacher doesn't know the model, you'll be left learning both new class concepts, and new calculator features on

Pricing is in line with the cloud: expensive. That's it, they made it: now Arm servers are mainstream.

Nice, another marker to know the date when software libraries were last updated (a recent one is the Swaziland -> Eswatini name change in 2018). It can also be used as marker of the health of your opensource locale library.

Just like Mozilla's browser might be eventually a footnote in history (I hope not), this too has a potential impact greater than Open Source Security's main project (grsecurity). Kudos.

This is about using Secure Boot, not disabling it. The author wants to boot third party software, signed by Microsoft, but Lenovo disabled this unless you go in the firmware settings: they only allow software from Microsoft, not signed by

Disagreed on the performance of the GPD Win Max: at least on my (2020) model, it's much more powerful than an older laptop. But I have to agree on the other things: the tradeoffs are a bit hard to swallow. I have been able to make it m

I see you used criterion here on your own repo, but it really shows that rust is missing the benchmark testing (I know there's one in unstable); having the tests you wrote alongside the code would prevent future hotpath regressions.

It might be that Apple is paying for the firehose as a data-source to bootstrap its search engine. Don't they have one accessible via Siri already ? (I don't follow Apple tech very closely).
