The old-school style you describe is indeed old-school and was abandoned by most PHP developers ~10 years ago. Modern PHP projects will have a single entry point that handles all requests, with path-based routing done in code.

PHP's dependency manager, Composer, uses this approach too.

Laravel uses some Symfony components, but it isn't based on Symfony. Laravel was heavily inspired by Rails.

Yeah no, this one is very Apple-specific. Just google "windows 10 vm image" and see what comes up. Obviously with Linux distros, getting images isn't a problem either. I'm sure there's some dumb shit that MS does to

That's how it works with Windows and obviously Linux. Why would a company not want to make it as easy as possible for people to try out, develop for and test on their OS?

I recently wanted to test something on macOS, but I don't own a Mac. I kinda assumed that I could just type "macos vm image" into Google and download an official image for VMWare, VirtualBox, Hyper-V or whatever from Apple&#x

I like adding "Server: Windows 95", "X-Powered-By: PHP 2.0" or something like that. You know, just to mess with people. Make them wonder what the fuck they just stumbled upon.

I think having good, secure, easy to use and hard to misuse crypto makes a ton of sense for any framework. The framework needs these internally anyway (to offer encrypted sessions for example), so you might as well expose them to the develo

I'm not sure that example is entirely true. A PC would probably still be cheaper, assuming you don't insist on getting exactly the same components and are OK with, say, substituting the Mac's RAM supplied by vendor X with a
