This is typical of a sales story I read from books. You were on a sales mission and it seems like: 1) You reached the wrong people. The focus of power in your case (CEO) was not the one making purchasing decisions (the HR guy) 2) You did no

Web programming is hard but not necessarily intuitive. That's what I dislike about it. Its a heap of different technologies put together in unstructured fashion. This applies to individual technologies as well, take CSS and see how unintuit

Everyone's best is different. The best laptop for me is a well configured Lenovo T500. Far from what's advertised.

For me X has always symbolized old, hard to configure, clunky, and ugly. It wasn't meant to be part of Unix but it mixed in. I am glad to see it go at least from our desktops.

I don't like the name. Hard to pronounce, also stealing thunder from a language name for no solid reason; a programming language is in a different mental category than an application service.

This was a very interesting read in that it gives a solid example on how designing a system can be outperformed by a natural selection approach. Us humans are inclined to design things and it is very easy to dismiss a random trial and error

It's upsetting news that the most popular virgin place on earth is now a little less virgin than before. Step by step, losing its natural value.

this is one reason youtube is banned from Turkey, the minister claims it is because they make revenue in turkey and don't pay tax. It might be a valid reason. The second reason though (going off topic) is because they don't have anyone to t

It sounds populist. Less than 20 year old is not a sweet spot for investing in a founder. It's only good for media coverage.

I think the most special achievement of Android is that it created a very successful mobile application environment on top of the Linux kernel. This was missing and the state of software on ARM-Linux was a set of crippled versions of deskto
