Burnham being PM is already pretty well priced in. When he walked back comments a few weeks ago they corrected and my sense is that the market understands that unless there until actual laws or budgets are promulgated, what is said by Burn

Two things need to change and this would be a hit: 1/ Find My support or similar (for parents who would give this to kids) 2/ WhatsApp?????? That is the ultimate social network so it should definitely not be there by default.

If I had said 'exploitation' there would not have been engagement. At some point certain words and phrases become too much of a lightning rod to constructively use any more (Marxism, critical race theory, exploitation, etc...)

It's depressing really - lost alot of respect for pg over time. Based on his writings it honestly appears that he isn't engaged with any critical writing in any of the social or political (or economic) domains.

She meant impossible in that one doesn't earn a billion dollars through work alone. The only way to get there is to set up a structure that extracts a billion dollars from a market (usually by building a structure that's more eff

The really scary thing now is that these models are totally controlled by private companies. With encryption the smartest people in the room worked in academia and open source tooling quickly caught up with commercial offerings. We need

The machine is no big deal - it's the authn/authz that matters. What can the agents do with the credentials available to them?

Also context - there's alot of context out there and it's faster to get it from servers. It doesn't matter how good the model is if it doesn't have context from data sources.

The only problem with that nowadays might be that AI can do all the incantations that formerly acted as gates to contributors.

It's the very definition of a culture war and in addition sadly evidence of limited intelligence. Even the most red blooded oil man wouldn't do this because this data is also useful for petroleum drilling and logistics - it'

1984 in particular is well worth a read right now. I read it at age 47 and it's not in the same vein as On the Road.

Kind of is. The point of fiction is to speculate. Judging the characters is fine but the commenter above almost seems to take it personally that the characters are morally ambiguous people - but that's what fiction is meant to explor

Sort of - if it's determined that somebody bypassed a safety control they can just make the control firmer and fire that person and move onto other things. If it's some fundamental flaw in the engine design that could set them ba

Maybe. A bad programmer is unlikely to get something even working so in that world nobody will depend on it because they can't even use it. A bad AI programmer (or non-programmer) can get the thing working so people will depend on it
