Yeah, this thread is full of people who didn't take enough time to read anything. We're all too quick nowadays to get angry and type without thinking, sadly.

I don't mean to be rude, but did you even watch it? He explains the firmware deletes a word when it detects a chord which skews the accuracy.

It's their laptop, they are aware that something is capturing their audio input, and they don't want to be reminded of that in this particular instance. Frankly, it doesn't matter if you would notice or care.

Heh, it's funny (to me) that their new 'Quick Window Switcher' is just... A window switcher that's been used forever and works well. Why did they bother trying to redesign a window switcher of all things?

Hi, I'll admit I didn't fully understand that, and your explanation helped. I'll also use this for when my friends and family miss the point too, thanks :)

Fair enough, that's good to know.

Yeah, it's one of those things people like to claim because it makes us that little bit more unique. I don't think I fully have it personally as I swear there's sometimes I van visualise something, but it's for like lite

Yeah it's confusing me too. When I asked a friend if he could picture a red apple he said he could 'see' it visually. If I do the same thing, I can't see an apple, but I do think about an apple, and I know what it looks

Honest question, why not just use tmux? It does everything that splits can do.. and more :D

You can always guess someone will comment exactly this. Yeah the UK have problems with heavy snow. Yes, many countries do. Yes, Northern Europe are better at dealing with it but still have their own issues. Like hotter countries are better

I tried Tailwind not long ago and really liked it, but setting it up with Create React App seemed a bit of a hassle as I couldn't do it without replacing the build, run, and watch scripts with something else I'd forgot the name of

Why would you in this instance ever use Apple again? I would have returned the MBP and once they'd recovered my account, asked them to delete it. Great that it was sorted for you, but there are dozens who aren't so lucky.

I had a very overcomplicated set-up to for JS/TS/web stuff and recently I decided I'd like to simplify a little. So now I just install Neovim and then clone LunarVim :) Yeah, my own custom config is probably more slimline, bu

I have this keyboard and use Linux and it works perfectly. Best of all, all keyswapping and other layout changes are done via the keyboard itself so absolutely no software required to be installed :)

We are not even close to running out of space. In my eyes, the bigger problem is all those pretty fields with the livestock walking about in them. They should all be covered in forest. I highly doubt immigration is affecting our population

The back and forth in that thread is incredibly interesting too.

I recently discovered this guy too. I'd highly recommend any of his videos with Jackson Crawford who is a Norse language expert.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not too against this. I do not mind DDG showing me lawn mowers when I search for "lawn mowers", and if this is similar but in Firefox, that's OK. The fact is, Firefox needs funding and this

Just having a look under the "Required Cookies" was enough to make me close the page.

Yeah most people would find it in poor taste. No point in ruining a perfectly decent pint of Guinness. The comment you were replying to was referring to the "Lady Boy" drink from Alan Partridge.

How do I watch this? I signed up, registered, etc. and then I click `Room 1` or `Room 2` and I just get sent back to the home page.

Huh, I'm from the UK and use the American versions. They American ones feel more logical to me. Probably all the programming books I read used the word 'parentheses' (:

Not sure what you mean here, in the UK we do not have to do anything for our taxes. They are automatically handled, and in the rare case you need a refund, it's automatic and if you paid less for whatever reason, they just increase you

Could we not source 'The Sun' for anything on HN? It's a terrible, terrible paper.

Well if what you're saying is true, home insurance is definitely cheaper in the UK. Here it's split into home insurance and contents insurance, if you rent you only require contents insurance but if you own a house you generally g

Honestly, that was mostly our government being incompetent. If our PM wasn't bumbling from one disaster to another, he probably would have tried to implement something similar to what Australia has proposed.

Eh, I completely agree that this is a step too far, but the solution is so simple. Stop using Apple devices - luckily I switched from iOS to CalyxOS when my iPhone 7 broke earlier this year. Honestly, it wasn't so bad.
