Yeah! Last week I decided I'd like to write a (very) simple HTTP server in C as a learning experiment. The network programming guide was incredibly useful and the code examples gave me a great base to learn from and extend.

So I've always been pretty against listening to Podcasts via Spotify, so much so that I completely stopped listening to Last Podcast on the Left when they announced they were moving to Spotify. I was driving recently though and tried t

I generally don't care, I don't find code easier or harder to read. I do dislike when you go to delete a font ligature and it reverts back, as you expect to delete one character.

I also hate search. The other day someone gave me a tip though, which has helped quite a bit. The global search and the other search you get in your inbox suck so don't use them. The actual search that works "okay" if when yo

Same, I have a pretty decent gaming PC. Only about 1GB of mail in my archive from what I can see though. Uses %1.5 of my 32G of RAM and 0.2% CPU. I'm running on Linux, but I do not see the performance issues others are having.

Like what, for example? People always mention cameras but most of them are in private hands and if you ever want to check them as you had your bike stolen, you'll quickly notice that none of them work anyway ==' I do tend to agree

Yeah, this has been around forever and I don't know anyone who ever used it. Bank transfers are free and fast here, if you gave me your bank account and sort code, you would have your money pretty much instantaneously. In fact, when I

This is the first time I've read the story. I completely understand it how you view this piece as you are out there putting your life at risk. However, for me it came across as nothing more as some minor annoyances that seemed justifie

I like the new Wikipedia design, find it much easier to read. However, it seems to be very similar to the new (and controversial) Arch Linux wiki redesign so maybe I'm just already used to it. I also very rarely maximise a browser wind

This. I'm not sure who expected that some "fake" meat came along and somehow everyone switched to it. We're used to eating meat and most have been eating it their entire lives. It's unrealistic to think that most wo

Well not just that. In England at least we generally say "20 to 4", "10 to 4", etc . if we're using a 12-hour clock. If I'm using 24hour we generally just say 1545, etc.

I did the same until a few weeks ago. I then decided that if it doesn't work on Linux I'm not interested anymore. Same with games that I want to play but don't natively support ultra-wide resolutions (looking at you, Fallout

I'm in the UK too, and find the plant-based phrase generally useful. For example, some double cream said 'plant-based' alternative and also had the Vegan logo. I've never really thought about it, but I assumed 'plan

No Vegan believes that everything they do is always the best for the environment - I just believe over the course of being a Vegan, I will end up reducing CO2 emissions overall. I'd imagine Almond milk is a miniscule part of a Vegan&#x

It's easy to say that, but I've had friends and colleagues not want to use Thunderbird because of it's UI. Honestly I think this would be enough to make them take a second look. The fact that you are indifferent (as am I) is

I hate that I'm doing this, but if a man went up to a famous woman and demanded a hug, would that have been awkward? I don't like hugs, and I feel perfectly entitled to tell someone I don't want a hug.
