Are you aware of the work that has been done with shaders to trace through depth maps in real time? http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.138... This shows relaxed cone mapping, which is a very elega

Again, I understand what they are doing very well. They noticed that colorization tends to track things in video. Of course colorization tracks to objects, it wouldn't work if it didn't. This is essentially automatic video image s

I realize that. They are for some reason saying they can track things with their colorization, when their colorization is extremely unimpressive as well as the tracking that results from using it. There is no reason colorization needs to ha

I'm very skeptical that there is any merit to the 'tracking' over other techniques, as well as the colorization being better than this 14 year old paper: http://webee.technion.ac.il/people/anat.levin/

Or we could work to make sure that traffic is always encrypted. Solving the ISP knowing who your packets are going to is more difficult, but no longer having clear data passing back and forth should have been a solved problem by now.

Nixon was forced to take the US fully off the gold standard since Charles De Gaulle was exchanging his treasuries for gold, exposing that the US could not keep it's dollar pegged to gold at the current price. This lead to significant i

When writing multi-threaded programs, data structures, etc. you have to make sure problems can't possibly happen - anything else and it's broken.

If BOLT can work directly on binaries, is there anything stopping it from being integrated as a kernel module into the OS, so that binaries are continually being profiled and optimized? It seems to me that an optimized OS image could be als

I don't think that is true. Even without memory bandwidth constraints, jumping to instructions that aren't in cache is going to incur memory latency. If the instructions are all packed together, the next instructions could be pr

He did not say it causes aliasing, he said it is inviting aliasing. More resolution is going to be fine if the pixels are filtered well. If they aren't, that could certainly invite aliasing. Pixel filtering, especially in a scenario

How is it different from cable? One person can dig a trench and lay cable through a large yard in about two hours. This is essentially how cable tv and internet are hooked up.
