If something is already bumping around randomly, all you need to do is constrain the bumping along some dimensions and it will move less randomly and more frequently toward the remaining free dimensions. That's easier than having to pr

If you do the math for power to maintain a given speed, you'll see an exponential curve. Air drag starts to dominate the energy budget very quickly. Anything you can do to minimize drag (don't carry aftermarket accessories, follow

For EV cars(1), air drag is the highest range killer. There's a huge difference in range depending if you go 65, 70 or 80. And if you follow cars or push the air by yourself. Stop and go doesn't really impact range that much, and

There's a point where the phone becomes similar to infrastructure, and allowing a single market actor to charge 30% tax on anyone using the roads, for any business conducted where someone took a road to get there, is ridiculous. I'

I think being alive is awesome in aggregate even though there are people whose existence is miserable and for whom it's absurd to suggest that life might be awesome. You might think Descartes was an awesome human, but what about the br

Don't understand what you're saying. I don't do football games and don't stand for flags, but I served abroad in an ultimately pointless multi-decade war. I'm not American. I still think the world is incredibly luck

I'm going to ignore your attempt at ad-hominem because you're far off mark. Anyways: (1) there will be violence and people will suffer from someone else's power (2) you're better off wishing for that power to be as nice

The best brains don't go work for the CIA or the DoD, or at least they don't stay. It's not an environment in which you can strive and do your best work. Nothing against what they do, I'm ex-military, but the culture in

The existing chargers for these cars are much slower than the slower Tesla chargers, so it's not like these cars will face an overall worse experience.

This is true on (eg) my Ioniq 5 that actually knows the real speed limit and shows it on the HUD but my Model Y is hopelessly bad at reading posted speed limits and would net me a bunch of tickets AND also drive 90kmh in a 120kmh zone.

This doesn't seem to say if the mating system allows more complex methods than absolute 3D grid location/orientation? E.g can it mate to parts relatively and specify constraints on degrees of freedom?
