I wonder how they designed it all so that it would be machined in earth's atmosphere at ambient temperature, made to open in a cold near-0K vacuum, collect electrostatically charged fine dust material of unknown chemistry, close up the

Looks amazing, I'll try it out. This will save me a bunch of time copy-pasting words in Papago and trying to lookup the grammar's meaning on random websites.

IBKR can also be finicky when it comes to what they allow on their platform. They seem to want people to do stock brokerage, and not use their service for other things despite offering a whole lot of convenient features that suggest they wa

If you're building a business, the Free tier should be a starting point, not a forever solution. Either the business dies, or it grows and you'll graduate to a paid option very quickly.

SQLite is cute and very appropriate in certain cases: - Local storage for a mobile/desktop app, instead of a DIY file type. - Local cache storage for a distributed system, instead of a DIY file type. While you can use it as

That's a ridiculous fallback to the actual problem: preemptively cutting someone's livelihood ahead of a battle. An alternative: let's send the defendant to public housing before they head to court. They'll still have a

Not drinking _all_ of the trans-culture koolaid doesn't make someone trans-phobic. I think he's posting a lot of crap, and probably doesn't have much of a filter and is impulsive at times. Clearly he's got some mental pr

I'm not. I just saw first hand how you call the cops and no one comes, can't be bothered. Don't leave anything in your car, don't ride your bike or get mugged. Drugged out zombies. I'm good. We were there in and out

Urban California mostly is as such. Otherwise do tell me where? Also I'm talking about my perspective living in the Bay in general. LA is less bad.

California is very expensive for what you get, and grew to become quite unpleasant to live in. High crime rate and a bunch of woke DAs and activists makes family life in the Bay area uncomfortable. And then you're supposed to pay a pre

Organizations in aggregate tend to underachieve whatever goal they set out to do. As a leader, "If you run, they walk. If you walk, they stand. If you stand, they sleep.“

How? Psychologically a company that size can't say that and then just maintain status quo: if it aims for that, it will instead rot and die.

For a second I thought this was an ad for a democratized CT scan machine, but alas it's a 75k$/y subscription machine? This makes a convincing case for having CT scanners available in one's hobby workshop, but the prices woul

Something strange is how prevalent listening to trance music seems to be amongst people doing deep work or study. I personally get my best work done when there's a good trance mix and no voice/intelligible conversation. I almost c

That's a bit of a ridiculously cynical take. The majority of democratic US allies that harbor US bases have a population that supports the presence of the troops. And those in power there aren't so because of the US military power

If the PCB layout matters, then that could be part of the building block? Like "if you need this bit, it will take X by Y footprint. here's various circuits that do $JOB within $PARAMS".

I wish there was some "here are basic building blocks to achieve XYZ" for real beginners who just want to hack something together. E.g. I would like a 48VDC-48VDC battery-to-battery charger, but I have no idea how to get started.
