I feel like debuggers usefulness is directly correlated to how specialized it is. A good debugger is all about giving you specific information on your problem. I find the classical step-by-step debuggers do an incredibly poor job at this. I

I think another thing to think about with charity is control and agency. Charity is, I'd argue inherently extremely undemocratic. Most people will never be able to afford philanthropy in any meaningful way, so Charity means subjugating

This is precisely what happens. The matrix.org bridge has approximately 25k open client connections to freenode. It would probably be a good idea to switch it to server-server connections to save resources, but afaict nobody has experimente

This might apply to "traditional" terrorism, that is centrally organized and coordinated. This is however not how most terrorism seems to work these days. Instead, we have something that's been called "stochastic terrori

I'm not sure who first made this observation, but it's incredible how slowly, everything becomes labor (in the abstract sense of work performed for someone elses profit). With social media, we spend more and more of our free time

I think you misunderstand why the keys were deleted. The keys get deleted on the client when you log out. This is sensible, because if you log out on a device, you probably don't want to keep the keys around in your browser storage. Wh

I personally think online car rental is very adequate for this. Locally, there's a number of very affordable services (usually there's tiers of membership fees that gives you steep discounts) that do this and I know many people th

I don't think there needs to be a universal line, decided by the company, on what's creepy. I appreciate how GDPR recognizes this. I believe it is up to the users to decide for themselves what they are and are not comfortable with

As much as I enjoy using radare2, I can't help but feel that the release of GHIDRA has made it somewhat obsolete. Perhaps some components of it can be used in r2 in the future though.

I haven't tried namecheap DNS recently, but I used to use it. I hated DNS. It would just take hours and hours for any change to propagate, regardless of TTL and it was just extremely painful to work with. I thought this was just the wa

I wonder if this isn't going to be seen as a mistake in the future. What if a faster map is discovered in 3 years that happens to not preserve order? This stuff is really hard to detect, so there's no going back on it.
