Uh, aren't all our fundamental rights part of why the constitution was written? It's not like the founders where n00bs when they realized a Bill of Rights was needed. They still didn't even get it right by still allowing slav

The "horoscopieness" of almost anything related to personality labeling causes me to feel deeply rebellious. You can't pigeon hole me! Irrational or not, I reject that my personality is fixed.

We don't have any blog posts about it, but the company my friend's and I started got into YC with 0 connections and we're pretty much all from the midwest USA. No one took a risk on us until YC, every penny the company had ca

I think this is actually something more people need to be aware of. When I found out a good friend of mine was in this position, a lot of my opinions about immigration and foreign workers changed. To me it is of a similar spirit to the cond

This is incredibly hard hitting and I'm glad I read it, but I'm also afraid it would "trigger" quite a few people today. What steps can a person take to get out of pop culture and try to get into the same league as the i

Meh, I'm an autodidact and I rarely complete a MOOC that I sign up for. There are many reasons for this. Quite a few try to just be copies of the campus course. Others focus too much on lecture and not enough on doing. In some courses,

Suddenly there's a spike in demand for Amiga 2000s on ebay...or maybe it's just me, I immediately opened a new tab and started searching for one to buy.

Yeah I've been feeling behind the wave since I didn't hop on the VR bandwagon when Oculus was on Kickstarter. But Carmack and Abrash both repeatedly emphasized how much work there is to do in almost any presentation they give.

In the real world I pretty much never talk with other people unless I have a specific reason to do so. On the other hand, I talk to random people on the internet everyday via channels like IRC, reddit, Twitch, video games etc. So your initi

The thing on this guide that is big for me is "How to Learn Design Skills" but then the suggestions are underwhelming. If there was a list of "canonical" well designed projects to learn from, that would be helpful.

I gave up on paying any attention to the sport of cycling years ago. Everybody who was winning or did something awesome turned out to be cheating. Seems like that hasn't changed at all.

In addition to your concern (definitely a good one!), I don't think the current political climate is such that we'll see progress in nuclear energy anytime soon.

This is great! I moved my team's repos to GitLab last year and I love it. Pricing is better, there's more granularity in assigning team member roles, and the mobile app is good too.

I like your comment about fresh air. I can't prove it or point to any source, but I firmly believe that as a civilization, we are living in poverty compared to what we could be living in if only we had some "fresh air".
