Ohh, interesting. I’ve long wanted to do an adjacent project, that is, creating a monitoring system for plants. Like, a single spike in the pot that measures soil composition, nutrient levels, moisture, wind speed, light exposure, humidity,

Hiding shady or unexpected stuff in the TOS is illegal in the EU and other countries for example. So just because some companies behave amoral, that doesn’t mean we just have to accept hundreds of pages of legalese being able to dictate us.

I mean sure, logging metadata is better than nothing. But that’s akin to saying you don’t need a car because your feet have never failed you at crossing distances. Yes, you need to learn driving first, and that can seem hard at the beginnin

Well, they have certainly allowed a convicted felon to become president, so I’m not as convinced of their ability to defend themselves. Any Netflix showrunner designing Trump as a character would have been called of for such a flat caricatu

Ever heard of Chestertons fence? Coming into a government for over 300 million people without the faintest clue how it works, removing stuff that doesn’t look too useful is the worst possible strategy to improve efficiency. You don’t renova

That misses the mark. You can’t really compare a hackish ”print the world as a string“ function against a debuggers ability to stop time, walk around, pick things up, slice them open, put them somewhere else, and start time again. That’s no

That would have immediately given away that something must be off. If you want to do this in a subtle way that increases the hype around GPT-3.5 at the time, giving it a good-but-not-too-good rating would be the way to go.

I don’t see how the network lock-in problem couldn’t be solved by automatically generating a DOCX version, however. As long as you can seamlessly import and export the standard—or shall we say, legacy?—format, you could work with a version

Do that for a bunch of different applications and you hit interesting issues. For example the Java TLS stack, which doesn’t accept a PEM certificate on its own, but needs the full certificate chain. Kibana, however, requires the full certif

I don’t think that comparison is apt. I’m too young for CASE, but the problem with UML (and really all the big concepts from the XML era) has always been that it’s far too lofty in scope; generating full applications from diagrams is a pipe

It’s funny, I’m the opposite. I love OAuth for what it does, that is, federate permission to do stuff across applications. It makes a lot of cool integration use cases possible across software vendor ecosystems, and has single-handedly made

Isn't that kind of mixing up the chain of causation? Without a winner, a lottery cannot exist (or at least, at p=0, it's nonsensical). That doesn't automatically imply there are a lot of winners, however.
