Curious ones can find a brief explanation of this core idea in a Github wiki (shameless plug!). https://github.com/red/red/wiki/%5BDOC%5D-How-Red-works:-a-b...

That's a rather bold claim. What you call cryptocurrency is an ERC-20 token intended for experimenting with community economy (e.g. tipping contributors, voting for features, app market, etc). It's an untrodden path and the idea i

GTK backend is in a fairly good state, albeit lives in a separate development branch (which you are encouraged to check out). https://www.reddit.com/r/redlang/comments/dzobh0/latest_gtk_... https:/

View is not a DSL, it's a graphical engine (based on Anti-Grain Geometry in case of Rebol and native in case of Red). What you are talking about is a combination of View and VID (Visual Interface Dialect).

For Windows users who prefer native apps and control over their data, Connected Text (paid, closed source ultimate kitchen sink with 30 days trial)[1] and WikiPad (free, open-source wiki engine)[2] are good alternatives to Roam. Personally,

Red is cross-platform and works pretty well on distros that support 32-bit libraries, GTK backend is also fully functional [1], so I don't get why Linux is excluded from your list. Red author also plans to port Cheyenne web server at s

Nice to see an open-source alternative to ConnectedText [1], though, it looks pretty unstable for 1.50.0 release (constantly crashes on switching views, graph navigator is lagging even with 3 nodes, no control over the window's layout

This deserves a bit of clarification: ROP is an application of threaded code technique. Conventional Forth (proto-father of stack-based/concatenative languages, alongside with Joy) is based on indirect-threaded code (ITC), so the conne

IIRC it was said in the context of the next major release (0.6.5), i.e. concentrate on 64-bit support ASAP or instead focus on the planned milestones that were already in the pipes. As you said, there was back-and-worth discussion in commun

I agree on RAD, but "history of being used in spreadsheet software" is a bit of an overstatement: there are Picosheet showcase [1] and one of the 7GUIs tasks [2] that are made with Red and implement bare-bone native spreadsheets i

Old Forths with block-based I/O used 64/16 (so that definition takes ≤ 4096 bytes and fits into disk block). Makes no sense in the modern world of course, but, in the context of block editors, it creates a development environment

You don't need macros in Red (but it's easy to roll out your own macro layer, if one so desires [1]), all code transformations can be achieved at runtime. A brief explanation of how this works is given in [2]. As for Red / Re
