The fed’s job is to keep inflation under control, not to “engineer (a) financial crisis.” If the fed raises the interest rates and sinks us into a financial crisis, it was a mistake, as seen during the great depression. If you want working

Sure, but maybe there should be a prosumer line? Or is quadro/titan already that? I just dont know how many gamers are curious about live paint ins for photoshop, or how many gamers can justify *90 costs for video editing and streaming

I think this problem will resolve itself. Nvidia pulled out all of the stops with the 4090 because they thought (hoped) they were going to be able to sell it in an insatiable market that was begging for the biggest most powerful die possibl

Gpus get old slowly too, but youtube influencers convince gamers their current card isn’t enough often ans effectively (I’m not excluded from this group)

Gpu sag is a big issue in gaming computers. I had a small (by comparison and of more contemporary graphics cards) rx480 and bought a cheap 10 dollar graphics card brace to reduce its strain on the pci slot in 2021 to help reduce its chances

They made motherboard chipsets (nforce, iirc?), not motherboards, unless I missed something. I think by the late 2000’s, though, their discreet gpus on laptops were problematic because they got so hot they detached from the motherboards or

PTX (Path Tracing) is the suspected next paradigm. Will it they move to 5 digits or 6? Do the tiers become hundreds or thousands or do they stay in the same place?

Not the person you responded to, but rumors, and also, none of AMD's board partners have come out and said they are gonna stop making AMD boards, especially none of the AMD exclusive board partners like EVGA did last week.

Even at 300 dollars, a 350w 3080 still looks pretty bad. I'd much rather watch prices of the 6800xt, at least until AMD makes their RDNA3 announcement. It also runs (well) on linux too :).

No ones learning class components for react anymore, and I'm not implying that class components are bad or ancient.

Well, I’m saying it may not perform for workstation workloads as well as nvidia cards, because cuda, but I also dont know how well supported workstation/pro features are with nvidia cards on Linux.

Any AMD card is really. RX6600's are 2x as powerful as rx480s, and are approaching 200 dollars. Dunno about their workstation ability though

People have bills (there were all of those threads yesterday about how bad student loan forgiveness was for society, right?) and no one will even date you now if you don’t have job, McDonalds won’t hire you if you have SQL as a skill on you

Its more a of a culture thats forced on kids out of high school really. People don’t have to go to college immediately after high school, but its… a norm, isn’t it? It would be much better if that changed…
