Is that best practice? I've never really understood how you should keep SSH keys. I kept them all in a folder and set zsh to iterate through them all and run ssh-add on startup. Until I realised it can't cope after adding a certai

Correct, wasn't specifically referring to the touchbar, however I do use BetterTouchTool and have a few custom buttons on there. They aren't too useful to be honest, but it's cool. I show things like my companies stock price

Also a lifelong Mac user, was given an XPS 13 when I started at my company a few years ago. My thoughts were exactly the same as Jeff's. I thought it would be a good device, it looks good, has a nice form factor, screen etc. but just d

Not a fan of Microsoft either, but can't bring myself to move away from GitHub just yet. I think my liking of GitHub is outweighing my dislike for Microsoft. So until they actually force GitHub 365 down our throats and force us to use

Pretty useful. Was writing a script yesterday to log website availability including the HTTP status of the site. This will be useful to make sure my script works correctly!

Forgot about that too. Atom is open source though isn't it? So I'm sure it won't ever disappear. I wouldn't want to move to VS Code though. I use a Mac and have heard good things about it, but I'm sure it will alway

Putting aside my general dislike for Microsoft for a moment, I still believe this is bad for the tech industry. It was great having a neutral player running the site, I don't think anyone should own them. GitHub would be best as a nonp

I probably won't have time until next weekend unfortunately. Not sure how long it takes for threads to get locked/ The code probably needs a bit of a tidy up too - I'm sure there's a much more efficient way of doing it.

I made a web app that shows meeting room availability using the Google Calendar API and Python with Flask. Was considering writing a blog post and putting the code on GitHub if people would be interested?

Not yet, had my domain for a good few years now as well. Been through multiple renewals, it's never been picked up on.

Noticed this the other day, my own domain is already blacked out. I used to put fake info there anyway, I don't want my domain linked to my home address, or provide an easy way for spammers to get my email.

I've had the MacBook Pro (Touch Bar) for almost a year now at work, and honestly haven't been too bothered about the ports. I leave a HyperDrive[0] on my desk to connect my screens and power and very really need to plug anything e

I know you've been downvoted, but I do agree to some extent. I did an escape room last week, while it was quite fun... the things you had to do to get out weren't exactly inventive. It was more luck than anything else, as you coul

They gave us a deadline to move (~2000 users). So we're just getting the Slack business case ready. If we have to move AND pay more money anyway, then why not just go to Slack?

I often try checking my overground train times while on the London Underground. There's free Wi-Fi on the tube, but only in stations. So you have around 30 seconds to connect and check before getting disconnected.
