Fascinating find, thanks! I miss the "new" feeling of technology prevalent with Palm. We seem to have settled into gaudy client/server apps, where the control/power is in the hands of the server.

I use FreeFileSync periodically. Relying on a cloud-based system always seems dodgy to me, since they sometimes get "confused" over which is the master. I also put my code into Fossil for an easy-to-copy and move .db file.

It strikes me as odd that APFS doesn't support hard links any more despite being the "new" filesystem, yet the entire macOS backup system relies on the old deprecated HFS+ filesystem for Time Machine disk format, since it use

Do you have a plan on something else to do? I quit my job and got a part time job doing development in a different field after a few toxic years. The same lack of understanding/appreciation can be felt in some jobs, but a change might

Have you tried moving the frames around a bit? I normally dump all the frames down the bottom particularly for debugging. The double-keystroke thing is a bit odd yes, and the menu is hidden a bit far away for ease of navigation. Still, it c

It states that humanity's standards for video have risen in 125 years. Viewing the film, it seems that the standard for clothing to wear whilst going outside has done the opposite, quite drastically.

What language do you write in using Visual Studio? I use it with C++ and C# and I can't say stress enough how amazing it is to use with C++, compared to the teeth-pulling experience of using xcode for the same tasks (some of which are

I suspect an awful lot. I worked at a place that did their own ERP software and that had thousands of database tables, many of which were simply enum fields. The entire system required magic numbers to be put into various columns in differe

SAP own Crystal Reports. It's buggy slow garbage, IMHO. Wildly popular for unknown reasons but I found that it threw internal C# exceptions all the time in its own DLLs and was slow and buggy. Awful. Oddly others thought it was great a

Sorry for the dumb question but what is a 4-way stop? In the UK we have roundabouts (but many drivers still have no clue which lane to get into, and don't migrate to the lane on the left after passing an exit, like they should).

Too right! I seem to be encoutering garbage software all the time, either in use, or by expanding an existing project (including widely available, popular OS projects). Sometimes it's my own code.
