Amazing how far we have come from the decades of macosx where they all looked pretty obvious that a button was a button. This obsession with flatness and completely undiscoverable user interface components without wildly flailing around the

Microsoft's documentation is by and large far superior. My old boss used to say that Apple wasn't a developer company and I would scoff but I think it's true when you compare them to Microsoft.

What in a basic office needs 8GB RAM?! I used Word 6.0 under Windows 95 with 64MB of RAM! Have you looked at Activity Monitor to see what is butchering your memory?!

Out of interest, what electric car have you ordered? A VW ID3 or something? I was wondering about the ID3 because the batteries are built into the floor and seem to only have a 100k miles lifetime, which is nothing for a VW and will destroy

What DAW are they using? I use my iPad as a remote for Presonus Studio One sometimes, but I couldn't consider using it as the recording system itself, since the AU and VST accessibility isn't there. I would also use my iPad as a s

Probably cultured related, like you say. In both instances they disturb the train of thought which is why I am not a huge fan of open plan offices, nor instant messaging during coding and concentrating. It’s why libraries don’t have buzzers

And how is real-time chat “supposed to” work? It presents a text box to type into. The text that I type in there is proper English, with correct punctuation and sentence structure. I don’t see how it being real-time suddenly means you need

Any monopolies? It's just like playing along to Google's game (including vague "exact" matches for adwords) because there's no alternative, and no recourse. It stinks.

jSignature looks interesting. I wrote something like that for capturing signatures on Android years ago, where you work out each plot until the user lifts their finger. I wonder if you could recreate signatures by examining the depth of the

Thanks for the explanations. I realise that the spatial file manager is missing these days, but I prefer the navigation file manager. Whenever I use BeOS I find the plethora of open windows for each directory unnavigable. You can get Finder

All of these points sound like macos apart from 4, possibly 6 and definitely 7. Your home directory is your profile/account (what's the difference on a single computer?).
