How does snap compare to flatpak etc.? I use opensnitch and eventually found the appropriate blocking rule for every time a snap is launched or appimage from some random mount path for the process. Not sure what's wrong with using the

This is particularly true if you use external audio hardware. Will it work? Has Apple changed something underneath that stops the drivers loading? Do I need to buy the software again to use it reliably (eg. Parallels)? I ended up ditching m

The Finder titlebar now is in a massive font and truncates at the END of the file path and ellipses the text at the END. It should be at the beginning or middle. Eg. in directory /Users/rich/Library/Developer/CoreSi

Amazing that anyone uses Google Drive with the horrendous user interface. Honestly File Manager in Windows 3.11 is easier to use. You can actually find out how big a directory is in File Manager!

I think with lyrics most people don't give them a second thought and don't realise what the person is singing about. Most people can't even tell you which instrument is being used in a part of a song. This is different to vis

I don't have a degree but my ears are pretty good at detecting the complete flatness of bass dynamics and destruction of all peaks as soon as the bass is played. Horrendous. Was the degree interesting?

The one thing that baffles me with SEO is how it's just guesswork yet is a massive business. It's like promising to someone that you'll get their name listed sooner in the phonebook without any control over the phonebook itse

I think ear training helps with that. I found listening to fusion helped because you were introduced to many scales you didn't hear in everyday music, so soon heard the differences. There's nothing more grating than hearing people

I have 11809 files in my repo. Opening a git tool (GittyUp) on this repo takes minutes but seconds on Fossil (on a Pi4 with USB3 NVMe). I use Windows + Linux machines + Pi and share between them so don't use the Pi4 exclusively but hav

I use Fossil at home since it's just me. The single file approach takes up less space than the comparable git tree. Fossil has the ability to push to git, which I do periodically just for curiosity.

I use the Pi4 passively cooled using an aluminium enclosure. If the form factor is not important to you, the Pi400 runs far far cooler (and faster) because it has a large heat spreader inside it. For the NVMe, I got an Icybox NVMe enclosure
