Unfortunately this will make the pollution worse. For example if I drive my car to work, my car does 6 miles round trip . If someone else does the same in total we did 12 miles. However if we share one car and the car needs to go even a mil

Chernobyl and Fukushima were mostly contained by people that were around, yet they still had a profound effect on the environment. Doesn't it make sense that uncontrolled meltdowns at ~ 700 reactors world wide would release so much rad

Most likely it was a bug, and since they used DNNs they could not correctly explain why it's happening. Since they could not fix it, they had to shut down the service. AI is not taking over - nothing to see, please move along.

We can maintain all of the above without building any new power plants. We just need to maintain all of the ones that we currently have, and have few research reactors.

When you show me how to safely store radioactive waste for the thousands of years that are required to make it safe, I consider nuclear power as a safe, effective and economically viable option. If you care about the environment, tell me wh

"intelligence explosion" is also limited by the physical world. AI won't be able to come up with a better understanding of physics simply by reading academic journals. Yes it might have some good ideas, and find some of the s

super intelligence will not happen overnight. AI will keep evolving with us and before it's truly conscious it will give us better understanding of math, physics, medicine.. This will help the AI grow, but at the same time we will be g

There is atomic oxygen, a lot of CO2, even water vapors (appox 20ppm) in the atmosphere. Sulfuric acid can remove water from many compounds, plus sulfuric acid will decompose to water and sulfur trioxide at the right temperature.
