I agree. I abhor political talk on HN, but this resonated true with me when hearing the comparison of US troop operations in Iraq to that of Vietnam in those instance. The idea of kill counts, popular in Vietnam, and targeted assasination

So I was in language courses in Cairo for a while. I was the only language major; all the other students were students from my university in a specialized diplomacy and government service track. Unlike me, they had to pass language profic

Ah. Well then correction, you told me SIGWINCH was not implemented in BICON and you did not have the time to work on it, which is definitely understable.

Mitchell, do you even sleep? Every time I see one of your tools, I feel like I need to pay you a hefty sum to teach me how to start coding productively, cuz Hashicorp output seems ferocious. Keep up the good work.

Yeah. I was going to say the only Scheme I have seen run in Slime/Swank is Chicken Slime, which is custom fork that overlays slime to handle specific extensions to Chicken scheme. I also play with Racket and had no idea a slime varia

I have seen it come up many times, but is anyone still using it or tried it long term? I checked a year ago or so and it appears both Git commit-wise and blogwise Fremlin had moved on to better things, but when people dismiss Lisp, I don&#

Nimrod is also becoming a real possibility, check out the Jester framework. I forget the other's name, but it did reasonably well on TehcEmPower benchmarks and runs behind the Mongrel2 web server via ZeroMQ sockets. Very cool stuff.

Interesting, they did a talk at Education City in Qatar and I had no idea about it? Very disappointed, and surprised they had talks with these kinds of experts on this talk (censorship avoidance is not looked kindly upon there).

The F-Droid thing will certainly will not happen. Moxie, one of the core developers of the WhispherCore products, had a pretty argumentative debate on their forum and his own Github issues regarding their repackging of his software TextSecu

As an aside (and please do not take it as a flame), this is a very neat article that shows a class of languages in a paradigm I have never considered: Lispy languages (semantically) without Lisp morpho-syntax. I had heard of Julia of cours
