Is that not what order-3 Markov model means? I mean, I will not lie. I skimmed the article and searched DDG/Wikipedia for "order 3 markov" and that article is what I got. Granted, my statistical comp ling course was ages ag

I do not want to pick a fight, but how is Rust not doing that? Check out /r/lang_name subs on Reddit, you will not find many other communities as vibrant (maybe some, but not the majority). Then check out rust_gamedev, dedicated

If anyone does not recognize dyoo, the owner of hashcollision.org is also the author of Whalesong, a Racket->Javascript system. I think it has been discussed before on HN. https://github.com/dyoo/whalesong Needless

This is very cool. And now even more Racket on HN's front page. I will look at the code later. For those interested, variable-order Markov chaining is different form traditional Markov models. I studied the latter in computational l

Hmm, I should rephrase. That was, not so ironically, an over-simplification of what I mean. When I say basics, I mean you guys get to core CS principles and notions, not basic in the simpleton sense. I see Racket as a very impressive exte

Don't worry, I recognized your name from the PAPL book and I think some Racket stuff. But anyway, I know who you are. :-) If I get it to crash again, I will definitely contact you and file a bug report. I guess the self-hosting compi

Thanks for your work in the Racket world. Thanks for Pyret too, I just do not use it ... yet. I check out your site often enough bc your work comes up a lot here. I am curious how are you typically advising (Brown?) students to use this.

And on that note, be sure to take a look at Pyret, another programming language designed by this group, to address some of these student-oriented programming issues. https://github.com/brownplt/pyret-lang/ It is w
