Is that not what order-3 Markov model means? I mean, I will not lie. I skimmed the article and searched DDG/Wikipedia for "order 3 markov" and that article is what I got. Granted, my statistical comp ling course was ages ago. Perhaps it is time to crack open that book, but neither the article or Wikipedia article cleared up for me if order 3 or variable order are different or what is implemented.
