Shoes that retail for $120-$150 don’t cost $100 to make. Normal shoes cost like $20 to make. The rest of the costs are transportation, warehousing, marketing, etc. Also remember that retail takes a 25-35% cut. I would expect a shoe that cos

I don’t see any references to nazis in there. The article says “Victorian phrenology”, not “nazi phrenology”. Calling it a Victorian practice isn’t unreasonable. Technically phrenology was most popular immediately before the beginning of th

Aurora 4X is pretty bad - it's as confusing as DF, but much more clumsy to use. Some dungeon crawl games have incredibly opaque UIs. System Shock 1 (non-enhanced) feels really, really terrible now, but I'm not sure it was as bad a

Yeah, I think this is the crux of it. Hiring sucks for everybody involved. I hate it because the process is ugly and the cost of failure is enormous (emotionally to me, financially to my budget, and personally to my reputation).

The big reasons I could see would be that a) you don’t trust the people behind the first one (or the country they’re based in, etc) b) the underlying technology of the new coin is more appealing (tx/s, smart contracts, fees, etc) That

I don't think this post means as much as people are acting like it does. The indicators of being a spambot they have in their post seem VERY iffy to me. "Not tweeting in the past 120 days", "Location set to a non resolvi

Hmm. Has YouTube been in the news for hiring broadcast execs? As somebody who is connected to broadcast, that doesn’t seem right to me - broadcast TV tends to be very control-freak-ish and the higher ups LOVE data, and I really doubt a broa

Embracer bought lots of things, not just Deus Ex. Companies acquire IPs in bulk buys all the time that they never do anything with (Gex being a good example). That said the linked article says that Eidos Montreal is working on a Deus Ex gam
