It'd sure be interesting for manufacturers to rent batteries to car-buyers and then have access to transmit energy to-and-from those batteries as a utility. If employers had hookups, during the day this could be done (set the time you&

You think all of this will happen in 2023? I could see AI becoming more powerful and more of an issue for content moderation/spam/propoganda, but leading to social, political, and economic change? I'm doubtful.

I will never understand who needs cars this quick. The marketing of EVs seems to be all around 0-60 speeds, but 90% of the people I know are infinitely more concerned with price, charging speed, and range.

Pretty brilliant way to build out a charging network instantly and increase transparency in pricing. Hopefully it's enforced.

My mom works in a middle school with a newly hired "severe behavior class" teacher who is woefully under-qualified. Because the new teacher is unable to adequately do her job, several administrators and other teachers routinely ha

I feel like people have the good sense not to have loud conversations on flights. But if the option _is there_ and folks are expected to now join video calls from the sky, etiquette and sense might take a back seat.

It seems like it's easier (or more efficient) to outsource education than socialization. Summer is a great time for additional education beyond the classroom. Then again, research suggests that homeschooling doesn't have an advers

Itten was brilliant. I really wish he and his contributions weren't overshadowed by the other masters of the Bauhaus. Great article.

Their water usage is only part of the problem. Extensive over-use of fertilizers which then end up in water ways is just as bad, if not worse.

Lawns are awful for the environment, and lawn care is a large part of this. Why we still have golf courses in any area that is regularly in drought is beyond me.

It's really fun to go back through historical marginal tax rates (you'd have to adjust for inflation yourself in this link [1]) and see just how un-taxed the wealthy really are today. No wonder dynastic wealth is so prevalent. Tbh

Probably an unpopular opinion––and I love TJs––but I feel like the quality and type of things you can buy there is akin to a Dollar General. The produce is often covered in plastic and subpar quality. The selection isn't great. Honestl
