Ultimately this is an Ad for Matamoto. I am no expert on how various platforms work but wouldn't this just be a case of the biggest target being taken down first? That the same policies are going to apply to all similar analytics ser

We got bit by the Let's Encrypt root cert expiry. I knew it was coming but based on what I had read and the stats of our users I expected the impact to be slim to none. We used it for some of our support domains, but not the primary

I'm somewhat amazed at this being news now. This has been blatantly obvious for years if you use Amazon even occasionally.

The loss of the small task bar icons will be annoying to me. I always fight to minimize UI real estate in my workspace, typically selecting the most compact / small offering that is still workable. I strongly prefer my task bar to re

As an older developer I find it funny how design trends cycle around. I think in my life I've seen UI design go the full circle at least twice. The square corner, solid colour era is ending and it looks like we're pulling back i

Do you step out of your house at all? Because if so, you could be hit by a bus. It's statistically possible, right? Best not do anything if you aren't able to understand relative odds. It lowers risk. Just like you do when you

I always loved working in LISP, it was just so concise and really made you focus on code structure and hierachy. Need to get back into it again sometime.

Yep, but I find it to be a really poor paradigm for efficient work if you don't remember them. Having to search the command palette is much slower than being able to set up a toolbar of often used functions. Don't get me wrong,

That cruise ship example is wild. To do all that work (450,000 man hours) to just add 50 feet to the length of the ship... a 12% increase in passenger capacity. Obviously it must be cost effective but on face value it looks crazy.
