I’ve been using https://prisma.io lately and I love it. It builds a Db client right from your db schema including Typescript typings. I don’t consider it an ORM in the classical sense. I see it more as a query builder.

I made react-guitar, a beautiful and accessible guitar component for React: https://react-guitar.com It started as a guitar fretboard exploration tool that did not survive, but I ended up publishing it as a reusable component. I

Cool! It looks very similar to a language we designed and implemented for a uni assignment years ago, using flex and bison: principal inicio entero x, y; leer (x); leer (y); si (x > 0) entonces s

I read "Comments are more dangerous than we thought" and was expecting a discussion about comments in source code. A comet will kill you instantly and painlessly. A misleading and outdated comment however can make your life misera

I personally consider malware anything that I cannot install with homebrew. Jokes aside, I've loved it for many years now. Thanks!

Nice work! This reminded me to a series of posts by Figma in which they described how their JS plugin system works [1]. I remember there were plenty of security reasons why eval was not the best way to go. I wonder if you guys took this int

I can only imagine how you feel. I find music so much harder than programming and I feel incredibly happy when someone enjoys my guitar playing (I am just a beginner really). You must be really good.

Congrats! I got my first GitHub Sponsor the other day and even though it is just $1 / month it made me feel like a rockstar. Also I got $3 on BuyMeACoffee a few months ago and it was wonderful. Keep up the good work.

I am impressed that computation is billed by the ms nowadays. I'm an ignorant in AWS Lambda but how do you know if their ms measurement is accurate? Is there any way to verify this?

I send emails directly from my NextJS backend using nodemailer. I render them in React using https://mjml.io and https://github.com/wix-incubator/mjml-react . It is true that my product is not ready yet but

This is so cool. I might consider connecting this to a Telegram bot and adding it to my personal site just in case someone opens the console one day and wants to chat with me.

Thanks for sharing this, I really like how simple it is. You should properly release it and possibly publish it in the main package managers.

I really like fretty! In fact react-guitar is the end result of a very similar project that I never finished. I needed to reuse the guitar component for another project I am working on now so I decided to make it open source.

So glad you liked it :) You can customise the content of the indicators with the "renderFinger" prop and render whatever you want inside. See https://github.com/4lejandrito/react-guitar/blob/master&#

I started building my partner's portfolio with Next and was very pleased with its simplicity. However I had to switch to Gatsby because of its superior support for responsive images. With Next I couldn't find a way to cache all th

Sounds good to me. The rich is as afraid of getting a fine as the poor one. Otherwise rich people just wouldn't care. It is true that a score based system with no money involved would be equally useful but I guess people fear more abou

I thought the same when I started with this project. It turns out making it an open source library with decent documentation, landing page, tests, edge cases covered, etc takes much longer than I expected. I wish it had been just 15 minutes

I misunderstood your original comment. The reason why there were 500 requests is because I was showing a background full of creepyfaces. It made the site look much nicer but it turns out it didn't scale very well.

Creepyface exists because I created it for my online CV. I've also seen similar patterns applied in some sites presenting the members of a team. Do you have any ideas on how to improve the tagline?

I think you're right. I tried to be as transparent as possible but it is true that making it opt in would be the fairest. I just didn't want to bother users. Although to be honest, I don't think I'll ever use those image
