That looks great. I think they experimented with this idea on reddit aswell at an early stage. However it didn’t turn out to be beneficial. I unfortunately don’t know the details, I read about it in some comment on HN a while ago (I unfortu

I just had this idea: How about making it really easy to be promoted to a volunteer down-vote moderator for an hour or so, just a button away. The task would be to downvote comments with mean and extreme language. The down-votes would count

Did you have a look at the Firefox add-on Tree Style Tabs? It puts the tab titles on the left hand side, allows for grouping them and seems to be very stable. There are also a couple of add-ons that allow for exporting the tabs. That combin

Did anyone experiment yet with a tree-like comment system (just like the one on HN) that completely hides comment points (even in the profile pages and to the users themselves)? To me it seems that, contrary to the intentions to achieve hig

That’s one way I thought it could be beneficial. I had two more scenarios in mind: (1) When handling multiple links at once I had the problem at least twice that I confused them. (2) Working offline made it difficult for me a couple of time

I find these links aesthetically appealing too, however, it seems strange that the title is a sub-path of the item ID. I think something like this would make more sense: /items/7536719-ask_hn_mods_can_you_make_submission_u

My thought was that it could just match ^\d*?(?=-) and ignore the title. I think the adantage of the dash over a separate parameter is that it would look more compact and the advantage over achors is that it does not misuse the URL semantic
