Pareto principle predicts AI will get to 80% fairly rapidly, but it will take a really, really long time to get to 100%. I think we’ll see a lot of things similar to “AI x-ray technician” fields where people are trained to read AI outputs.

I don’t think so. AI is a tool. It doesn’t make any sense to say “a screwdriver can now screw things in better than a person” anymore than saying an “AI can diagnose better than any doctor”. The doctors use AI just like a mechanic uses a sc

I also found this to be a weird statement. Chess AI has been beating world champions since... 1996? Yet championship chess tournaments are alive and well, and I don’t recall any players “retiring” in 1996.

Also, 280w comes out to be about $58 a month in electricity for Bay Area pricing (29c/kWh). Collocation will probably be cheaper for some folks.

Very unlikely to lead to ipv6 only services any time in the distant future, unless of course your service requires thousands of ip4 addresses. Eventually maybe a premium for an ipv4 static IP on some cloud provider but that’s about it. The

They REALLY need recaptcha on park reservations, or some sort of other automation. I'm 90% sure that botting is the only realistic way to get campsites in some high demand areas (such as lower and upper pines of Yosemite). I'm con

This is what I really dislike about owning crypto long term as a store of value. It's a cat-and-mouse game with hardware and software development, and there's a lot of faith in maintainers to stay ahead of the threats.

We have to be really careful! If not the distant future will be dystopian nightmare where government controls everything you do and tells you how to do it. To stop it, we need to make sure the government is telling everyone what to do and h
