I give my thanks through comments. I think that makes sense given their model -- the question and answer are the straightforward facts about the problem intended for future googlers and posterity. The comments are little meta-data intende

Ha! A user that's not logged in can't even get to your ServerFault link. They're silently redirected to the duplicate. Even more frustrating (to you, I imagine) is that your question was closed unilaterally by a moderator -- the same mode

I've been looking for one as well. It appears as though they're still working on releasing more of the images. The HiRISE news release[1] now contains a (currently broken) link[2] to a 540MB non-map projected "descent long view." I imagin

Not really. The MRO is moving fast and at a relatively low orbit. "If HiRISE took the image one second before or one second after, we probably would be looking at an empty Martian landscape," said Sarah Milkovich, HiRISE investigation scie

The structure of the tournament also precludes throwing matches. Thus, they were not being true to the (mathematically) ideal rational player - they were violating a constraint of the tournament in their attempt to maximize another advan

What is it? It took me quite a while (and a few web links) to discover that it's a Mac email client. Interesting how many new email clients are emerging this summer. I'm taking note due to the likely abandonment of Sparrow. Also due to co

Somehow, I think there's more to this story. I know that I sometimes play with a site's URL parameters, especially if I'm going to be giving them my credit card information and it looks like they're doing something non-standard or risky. Of

Let me recommend a poem to you. Do not go gentle into that good night, by Dylan Thomas. Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wi

I think there's a selection effect at play. There are many more lower rated players, but fewer CEOs and cofounders. Remember that this list is about executives. As they go up the list, the pool of players narrows. And thus, they have to
