Damn, I would have loved for this article to have any substance. As someone who has been doing consulting the last two years, these kinds of questions are always on my mind. And I have no good answers.

This event should be a good conversation starter on how horrifyingly monopolistic this trifecta of services has on worldwide communication. When I think through a random smattering of people in my contact book, I now have no way of contacti

No, not cynical at all. This is one of the most legally unethical people on the planet.

Did you read the article? This is something entirely different than the whole one euro house hype.

Great post OP, one of the most relatable things I've seen on HN. To piggyback, does anybody here have any experience doing this while living in Europe as an American? Seems like there are generally fewer remote jobs here, especially on

Sort of related, but I'm looking for a library or tool of some sort that I can use to generate landscape photos. I don't really have a lot of time to put into a project right now, so I was fantasizing about stumbling across some p

Honestly I'm a bit shocked as well. It's in these kinds of threads that it comes out how out of touch a lot of people on HN are with the impacts of their money, and actions. Praising airbnb founders reads like praising Trump to me

How do we solve this problem? How do we prevent, or at least discourage, people from turning a blind eye to the ethical implications of working in a dystopia accelerator company like FB when job options elsewhere are plentiful?

Actually something I've been wondering, as somebody learning German right now: are there equivalents to this kind of slang in online German? Would you _ever_ leave a noun, for example, uncapitalized, for a more casual feel?

It always makes me sad to see realistic comments like these downvoted on HN by the out of touch 1%. Does a leisure activity enjoyed and easily substitutes by an exceedingly small minority of people really hold anything against the other dev

This is a fascinating difference. I never really stopped to consider how individualistic a lot of western art is.

Thanks for the fantastic library! I've really enjoyed using it and it has sped up dev time phenomenally. However, I am curious: what is it like using tailwind on huge projects? I can imagine with many developers working on a codebase t

Somebody explain this to me, as I've never worked at a large company. Facebook has tens of thousands of employees. How is more not known about the extent that they track you like this (and other slimy practices)? I imagibe if somebody

I don't want kids at all (at least right now in my life, I'm 25). These ideas are however a pretty strong counterpoint to my negative feelings: that you can completely shape a human brain from birth using your 30 years or whatever
