I would go the exact opposite of the iPhone way, a few people I know have been using different generations of Xiaomi Redmi's as tool phones with great satisfaction. Surprisingly the build quality is good and battery life is amazing. Yo

I'm European and was surprised to hear that legal issues are indeed a part of the decision, not just technical details. AFAIK data that passes through the US may be legally intercepted by the US authorities.

In Sweden it's almost free. You pay as you go with ceilings of around 100$ for medicines and 100$ for doctor visits, kids are free.

Here in Sweden we don't see it as making things harder for employers, but making them act in fairness. Swedish worker unions sees the success of the business as success of the employees and will help get there for example by fair to bo

How are Tesla more innovative than other companies ? They kicked off a big conceptual change but I don't see that they have a significant technological advantage over other companies like Volvo.

> Forget cost of living You can forget it when you are young, healthy and single. Put a wife and couple of kids into the equation, a sickness here and there plus a small risk to become unemployed and everything changes.

We engineers can do convoluted sums, the assumption is that the events are independent and you multiply the probability of success (or 1-probability of failure).

Statistics is simply working against you, system tests are a long chain of of (let's say) independent events with (let's hope) a small chance for failure. But your test multiply those probabilities creating a much bigger probabili

You are confusing bitrates here, the fax emits an analog signal and doesn't interface the digital line directly- it's not a digital packet switch protocol. Those 2400bps are not using 2400bps from the line, but are modulated to an

Once every 3 days won't work in my house, it's too big and cluttered with kids stuff to be feasible. But I wish I could vacuum even daily, especially now with all of this pollen in the air.

Not necessarily (answering as an Electrical Engineer with zero submarine knowledge), batteries in series give more voltage while batteries in parallel allow more current drawn. Now it depends on what and how your propulsion is.
