I am ashamed by some of the reactions here (appart from jacquesm which offers a balanced one) AppGratis is a media, and like all media, it runs on advertising. The quality of apps promoted is shown in the fact that many apps stayed high in

Re: Rule 5.6. Aren't all commerce apps - especially Flash Sales apps violating Rule 5.6? I could get an app every day from Fab, Rue La La, Threadflip, Gilt, and others, and every week from Postmates, Instacart, etc... Rule 5.6 seems crazy t

Ivan - I like the idea. One advice though - raising subsequent funds for a startup is great, but by no means this means liquidity as an investor. In your hypothetical case, you would have made money on SocialCam. But as many terms give you

Agree with your comment. I think it's more a matter of startup fatigue. Few startups seem that great without testing the product or seeing their growth. Dropbox? The idea is not so great, but the execution was just awesome. Google? (yet ano

I know a guy who said no to a job offer at Google as Employee #3 because "they had no viable business model". If that can help your friend feel better....

You may be right, but being a tech press darling does not make them less or more successful. Some great consumer Companies are succeeding with very few tech press mentions (Tango, WhatsApp come to mind), while others get a lot of tech ment

If Startup=Growth, as PG said, then VCs are not startups, apart from YC and possibly 500 Startups. Cool portfolio of Companies though!

H1B applications need to be submitted in two weeks - there is very little chance you will be able to 1/find a job 2/ accept an offer letter 3/get through the H1B application in just two weeks. It can be done, but it is highly unlikely. Also

I have experienced myself different types of offerings from different startups/Companies (ebay now, Get it Now, Instacart, etc...) and I would say the following: - For groceries, it is really awesome. Instacart prices are 10-15% above Safew

I agree that providing no notice was not great. How did your husband find out about Cherry and applied for this job?

The Cherry team comes from a pretty cool background with lots of ex-Yammer people. Plus demand was strong... So demand + strong team in a frothy market = why not give them $5.5M to see if there is something real there.

Thanks for your reply. I see. It's funny that you had this discrepency between iOS and Android since you could assume that many people on Android would want to play games with their friends on iPhones. Anyway....Thanks for the clarification

I have always been curious with how well Heyzap was atually doing. Their founders are really smart, they have great VCs and they tend to be super influential on Angel List, and yet the data I could find on Heyzap are not as amazing as I wou

I agree that being honest is the most important thing to do at this point. Beyond that, I think that the first question you need to ask yourself is : "what do I want, long term". Obviously we don't know what your project is about, but do yo

I partially agree with you. I don't think Udacity disintermediates HR - it disintermediates 2nd and 3rd tier universities whose main value, beyond the degree, was to have a career services department that was sort of helping out students b
