I actually think your first sentence is a spot on definition for 'bricked'. However, this specific scenario does not meet the criteria you've defined. Nobody is throwing out their car because it was only temporarily disabled.

I think this blog post is an insight into mental illness.

Thank you for that incredibly kind offer. I've spent the last year or so automating everything I can. I've made peace with letting go. You spend your entire life accumulating "stuff" to only realize none of it matters.

Does anything like this exist for Mac OS without npm as a requirement? With all the recent package compromises, I'm hesitant to use anything that requires NPM.

As someone with ALS and won't see next year, please do not post my memoriam page to HN.

I scanned this discussion looking for a way to tell if you've been compromised but nothing jumped out.

Totally this. I already pay for ChatGPT Plus and like it. Forcing their "own" AI for another $20/month is a nonstarter.

Google is first and foremost an advertising company. They're going to do whatever makes them the most profit. It always had razor wire fences unfortunately.

Nobody is questioning what themes are available on gnome. Including a screenshot of the software running in a window that very much looks like macOS X is simply misleading.

I agree. I was trying to use Vanta’s trust management platform to prepare for an audit but instead downloaded Vanta, the toy version of Wireshark. It's very easy to mix up 400 lines of go code on github with the security platform on va

Verizon made a net profit of 12 billion USB last year. The year before they made 24 billion in net profit. This is a highly profitable business.

Back in 2015, Time Warner Cable testified they make a 97 Percent Profit Margin on High-Speed Internet Service for residential customers. I would guess Verizon is doing okay.

I hope your sitting down as this might come as a bit of a shock but lots of live content is streamed via "web pages", like sports for example.

Why would that be a factor? This website only analyses US based loans.

I'm skeptical anyone here has actually bought a house. That's not how it works at all.

Except that's not how it works. You don't pay the mortgage company, you pay the seller.

Why would a name and a random property address have value before the transaction, but not after it?

by 293984j29384 2y ago
What sensitive data do you think is on a loan estimate? I've received a dozen over the years and it's literally just your name and the address of the property you want to buy. Both of which are public information if you do purchas

You must not live somewhere with gridlock if you can't imagine a use for supervised FSD. It's much less taxing to monitor the Tesla.

As a Tesla owner, It's great to know other companies are working on FSD that doesn't try to kill you every 30 minutes or so. I was in a construction zone a few days ago and my Tesla didn't "see" a chainlink fence an

I'd agree with the comments about the built-in system for any car but I disagree that mounting your phone on the dashboard is more simple and efficient then just leaving it in your pocket for the same functionality.

The AA/Carplay experience is incredibly superior to a cell phone clipped into some type of holder. With wireless Carplay, I couldn't even imagine going back to plugging my phone in, or even taking it out of my pocket. There is no
