People have gotten promoted off their 20% projects. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, but to say you understand the internal dynamics of Google and the decisions that Larry and Sergey make is certainly some kind of delusional.

Engineer here. I wasn't around for G+, but it seems to be an open secret internally that G+ was one of the most poorly managed projects ever . This isn't the first time I've heard about the poorly designed incentive structur
