My question is how do you enforce anything like this? Cookie banners, the accessibility ruling, and now this. We've had to adhere to the rulings at work; but when I ask the lawyers; "how do you enforce this?" they say as long

I happen to work in this world, and it is much much worse than this. CAP codes are white space sensitive, they often have leading whitespaces. So you need to store " PINGPONG", but if you store "PINGPONG" then you are

> I finally got around to my childhood dreams of building a home network rack My childhood dream was to build crazy buildings, before that it was a space explorer. Not sure a home network rack ever made the list!

I think this is a fun project, but I'm not sure I'd leave this up for much longer. MPs can be litigious. Especially if this is seen to be enabling things like ID fraud. Also, there are only 650 constituencies. I would pre-populate

Adding the other side; we use ja3/ja4 * for rate limiting and it works a treat, especially when we set our rate limits to much higher than normal traffic. I've pushed back any attempts for any kind of tracking for business purpose

I have a version of this; I have the email {{popular-asian-surname}}@gmail.com and I've seen _everything_. I've had many many bank statements from India. I've had someone in California order a brand new BMW and got the detail

Oh wow, of course I would run into the founder of Runscope on here. Loved Runscope it served it's purpose until something came along that that offered the same + version control.

Yeah love Hurl, we stared using it back in 2023-09. We had a test suite using Runscope, I hated that changes weren't versioned controlled. Took a little grunt work and I converted them in Hurl (where were you AI?) and got rid of Runsco

I don't understand the tone of aggression against ACME and their plethora of clients. I know it isn't a skill issue because of who the author is. So I can only imagine it is some sort of personal opinion that they dislike ACME as

I think it's starting to change. I'm an AI sceptic (and generally disregard most AI announcements). I don't think it's going to replace SWE at all. I've been chunking the same questions both to Gemini and GPT and I&

The answer is lack of competition. Here in the UK, all bank apps were dismal. Until Monzo and Starling arrived on the scene, and holy hell did the big 4 get their acts together.

It does. But that isn't what I want it to do. I want to manually lock the doors as soon as I close my driver side door.

I would really rather that cars didn't run software, or at the least the minimal software to get the job done where there is no other option. My current car is a Kia; I love it. But the door locks are software controlled (you can tell

I love this story, so happy for your success. It reads great, and makes me feel great (oddly - maybe it gives me a sense of hope I can do the same thing one day). Congrats!

Dealing with enterprise is going to be fun, we work with a lot of car companies around the world. A good chunk of them love to whitelist by thumbprint. That is going to be fun for them.

Trying my best not to break the no snark rule [1], but I'm sure your code is 100% bullet proof against all current and future-yet-invented-attacks. [1] _and failing_.

There is something here that doesn't sit right. We use BQ and Metabase heavily at work. Our BQ analytics pipeline is several hundred TBs. In the beginning we had data (engineer|analyst|person) run amock and run up a BQ bill around 4,00

I'm amazed that this has reached the almost-top of HN. It's a very confused article that (IMO) is AI Slop. 1. Naming conventions is a weird one to start with, but okay. For the most part you don't need to worry about this wit
