Elixir is stable in that sense as well. Which IMO is very nice as I don't feel I have to relearn the language if I leave for 2 years, and I have to rewrite a 2 years old project to make use of any new idiom and syntax sugar.

We can live without sugar. Like, 0 grams of sugar, or even 0 grams of carbohydrates. The hardest part is to avoid any at all, since even muscle meat contains some. The real killer though is added sugar, not naturally occurring sugar. Or eat

It's just a matter of habit. I'm still addicted to sugar, but I've been drinking tea and coffee without sugar for the past 10 years, and I don't feel they require any at all. The slight bitterness of coffee is the same a

Your 37ms is based on 5ms roundtrip and 0 CPU time, which is impossible. And add network jitter which might be worse than static latency. And the Stadia market isn't people with fast monitors, Ethernet connected and ultra stable intern

Because sending a light beam 10 miles away is slower than not doing so, obviously. Light isn't instantaneous in this universe. It's surprising people still don't get this. Operating a computer miles away will always be slower

No. However fast is your Internet, it is still slower to send data out on the Internet pipes and back again than doing local computation. 5ms ping to your local Stadia server is at least 5ms of additional latency compared to a high end PC.

The story is one of the campiest, silliest ones I have ever encountered in a videogame, but hats off to Kojima for trying something new and radical. I definitely enjoyed my time with it and I look forward to his next endeavour.

I do not understand how people say there's virtually no latency. There is, and it's _huge_, because light is actually quite slow and no tech can improve on that. Makes me think people that say this have never played on a high end

It's about time for their next album. Got any recommendation? So far, I've found Ratatat are in their own league, nobody comes close to that very specific feeling and genre.

The reason why desktop Linux is so bad has not very much to do with it being free software, but instead it's more of a political problem which many open source proponents still haven't understood. Everyone seems to point to Linux

Depends on the nature of the VPN. I can connect fine through my work OpenVPN, but it's not a full tunnel, just pushes a couple routes and split DNS, both of which are accessible on the WSL2 VM.

This sounds like madness. Not cost effective to deploy, nor cost effective at all to implement in the first place. It's literally setting money on fire. What's the equivalent of Poe's law, but for software development?
