I’m sorry, but your individual anecdotal experience does not refute his hypothesis in any way. It is reasonable to hypothesize that the increase in ADHD may be due to environmental factors (diet / exercise / etc). Those factors ma

I don't think so. I think the more correct way to frame it would be that they are charging for access to the space in a user's feed. Like renting billboard space, except the user data makes it very easy to understand where you sho

FWIW I went 2015 MBP->XPS->2017 MBP. I really liked the idea of the XPS but it had too many hardware issues and the touchpad was considerably worse than the MBP. I would get another Lenovo X1 carbon if I had to go back to a windows ma

Lone wolf is great, but sometimes haymarket has more space. If you go right when it opens at night, you can usually get in pretty quick (I’ve been seated in 15 minutes)

Oh please, the Au Cheval wait has been ridiculous for at least 5 years now. If you have friends and you drink, it’s very easy to plan to hang at one of the bars that’re close by for a couple of hours.

I completely disagree with your opinion, but to each their own. Also, people are comfortable with the 2.5 hour wait (or more!) because they can just go hang in one of the many bars in the area during that time.

I wasn't really questioning how the drivers can easily work for multiple companies. That is pretty clear. My question is really around how I can generally have nicer Lyft drivers, with drivers having no preference on what service they

I've had a slightly different experience. My Lyft drivers have definitely been happier and nicer, but most of them say that there is no real difference between the two services from a driver's point of view. I'm not sure how

It’s relevant because the whole point of the service, clearly stated, is long-term relationships. My point is that not only can they help you out with the initial matchmaking, but they could also help you maintain your relationship. Other p

FB has a few other things it can bring to the table, too. Assuming reasonable user engagement on the platform: -They can match people with similar interests, or similar friend groups (or test the hypothesis that opposites attract). -They ca

We don’t disagree, my point is to treat lunch as a complete break (even if it’s just to read at your desk) rather than powering through every day to try and leave a few minutes earlier.

#4 will kill your mental health over time - would not recommend. Take 15 minutes to close your laptop and sit somewhere else. The other suggestions are really good.

The average American commutes ~30 minutes each way [1]. Given a 9-hour workday (8-5 or 9-6), and 8 hours of sleep, that leaves 6 hours to eat breakfast, dinner, and get ready for work/bed plus occasional errands/exercise. This is

Why would I think about it that way? That is the exact attitude that I do not want prevalent. I actually LIKE the tipping system for the traditional service-heavy jobs like the ones I mentioned, because it separates the product and service.

This is strange and not at all how I think about tipping. I tip if the service can be a differentiator (servers, bartenders, baristas at smaller coffee shops). If the person is just giving me change and handing me some food/drink and b

Haha, I was a consultant and you paint a very idealistic picture of the situation. It usually went something like this in my experience: 1. Partner hears client is interested in a certain type of engagement 2. Partner promises that their fi

It’s a really great feeling. I went for a while getting up at 5:00am, going to the gym, then straight to work by 7 or so. I’d often get the most important work of the day done by 10 and I felt pretty amazing. But having to go to sleep by 10

I'm pretty certain that Freedom (and many other ad-blocking apps) got banned because they were using a VPN for uses other than a strict VPN. Your app uses a VPN for access control, right? Why do you think it won't be banned? EDIT:

Sometimes it helps to observe your parents' eating habits. At some point I realized I had very similar eating habits to my dad, and started skipping breakfast as he had been doing for years. Now I do that every day (for years) and feel
