Trump went from "Build the wall!" in 2016 to "Secure our borders!" in 2024. How can you be so gullible to vote for Trump? I understand not voting for Biden either as Democrats suffer from their own hypocrisy.

>Even people who never adopt this stuff personally will have their lives profoundly impacted. That's a big claim with nothing to work with. In any case you are the bottom line and "you" is very general here.

Pretty much, tech is what we make of it no matter how advanced. Just look at what we turned most of the web into.

When I was applying to internship dev roles a long while ago it was very common to come across “record yourself” interviews and a situational test. Next stage was often some group interview where you had to put a presentation together or cr

Everything is a matter of probability. Resorting to survivorship bias even if that includes yourself is just spitting in the face of statistics.

I only highlighted the tip of the iceberg where the behaviour is not limited to Twitter and wasn't even political. And whether the world is better or not than 3 decades ago is not really the topic here, it is about mental health and ho

The recent Twitter drama over a use of a word is all you need to see how bad things are. It takes nothing to get a mob of mentally ill people on your case which can have a psychological toll on anyone especially teenagers. And if you try to

Definitely not true in my experience. I have witnessed very little consistency, it seems most applications are simply automatically filtered using many variables that no one is going to figure out. But you could argue that applications are

Seems like this crowd is upset over a children's puzzle game. Thought it was alright, has decent graphics that shows what can be done procedurally without the need of carefully hand crafted assets.

So it can't generalise to other tasks? Then how is this much more than overfitting text/image input to controller output?

It is over. Many believe LLMs are more than regurgitation programs and even think they are doing the world a favour by posting ChatGPT content. Even worse, these models will only become more and more inbred as training goes on.

We are generally on the same page but I don't necessarily agree that it is "good" game design even if it is successful at least as someone who looks for richer experiences in games than quick and recurrent rewards.

It is one of those quick dopamine generator mechanics where you feel like you are always making progress / getting rewarded no matter how mundane or mediocre the content really is.

Is this a "gaming is a waste of time" comment because I would argue that gaming is still better than passive forms of entertainment and never really understood the stigma specifically for games in the entertainment space.
