I too use tabstop=2 But `cat` uglifies it, so I added this to ~/.bashrc: alias tab='sed "s/\t/ /g" ' You needn't say "cat myfile | tab"; you can just use it exactly like cat: "tab myfile" (I'm not saying that you'd not instantly

Doesn't work in FF2.0 (unsurprisingly). BTW: a nice thing about xkcd's drawing is that the heads are slightly off-circular, to imply direction, tilt of head, and some cases even expression.

If you've designed something well, then all changes can be easily accommodated. But to "design something well" requires omniscience, because it depends on understanding the problem, and in what ways that problem will likely change in future

Thanks. found == searched for it; "found" == pretend quotes, meaning you uploaded it and faux-found it. It makes perfect sense, now that I know what you meant. Quotes have a few meanings, but it didn't occur to me that you might have meant

Thanks, I picked the unobtainium issue: the tree is supposed to be above the largest deposit, but it doesn't float. The movie could have been longer: afterwards, I misread the time, and literally thought it was only 1:42 long (not 2:42). I'

Oh gimmick it is. It's just that the spring-sprung-brake concept has fascinated me since I was 5 yo. It would be cool to make this work; if sufficiently light, it would be a net win.

Maybe that generalizes, to say that it's the code that lisp doesn't turn into "Fungible Cogs", and so it can't be used by others in a standardized way. Standardization seems to be anathema to the individuals who are attracted to lisp's po

Perhaps one source of data is YC startups. What's the success rate of lisp vs. non-lisp? Yes, of course, many things contribute to success other than language choice. That's my point.
